Edinburgh Week Programme

Students have the opportunity to apply online for placement on a varied week programme in hospitals in Edinburgh and The Lothians. Over the course of the week students are given the opportunity to sit in on consultations, go to theatre and are exposed to a wide range of specialities and levels of clinicians.

EDINBURGH Catchment area: Edinburgh City, Lothians and Scottish Borders. Pupils from the Falkirk area or Lanarkshire are welcome to apply to our Edinburgh OR Glasgow programme.

Please note that as NHS Lothian does cover a wide geographical area some sessions may take place outside of Edinburgh. Although we are able to offer advice and guidance on transport we are unable to provide any financial expenses due to the entirely voluntary and free nature of the programme. Clinicians have been very generous in giving us these opportunities to pass onto the students and as such attendance at these or any of the sessions is mandatory.

Pupils must fill out an application form during the allotted week and these will be scored according to a set marking scheme (See Application Process above).

The timetable below serves as an example of a typical programme and all timetables are individual and as such will be different.
